CAIRO (Sputnik) — The 1,000-megawatt power station in northern Egypt’s El Dabaa will be built and serviced by Russia. An intergovernmental deal to this effect was signed last November.

"The final contract to build a power station in El Dabaa will be signed this year," President Sisi was quoted as saying in an interview with local media by Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram.

Russia’s state nuclear authority Rosatom said last May they had agreed a contract on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and had moved into the final stage on deals involving nuclear fuel deliveries for the duration of the power plant's operation as well as a back-end pact on its decommissioning and were still working on a service agreement.
