MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia expects NATO to react to Turkey's "provocative" moves, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on Tuesday's downing of a Russian Su-24 bomber jet by a Turkish F-16 fighter.
"As we know, the NATO council is starting a meeting at this very moment. We will wait for some kind of a reaction from there, including an assessment of these provocative and unacceptable actions by the Turkish side," Peskov told reporters.
"I can only express the strongest outrage and disappointment in regard to these unpredictable moves by Turkey," the spokesman, who spent several years working at the Russian Embassy in Turkey, added.
