"Ukraine must become a platform for Indonesia's access to the European market. At the same time, we consider Indonesia a platform for [accessing] a large Asian market," Poroshenko was quoted as saying on his website.
According to the Ukrainian leader, providing access to the EU market for Indonesia is possible in light of the Ukraine-EU free trade agreement that has been provisionally applied since January 1.
The president noted that Indonesia was Ukraine's important trade partner in Southeast Asia and pointed out an increase in bilateral turnover.
Poroshenko also reminded the meeting that the two countries had signed in Jakarta several deals, including on defense, agriculture and visa liberalization. Energy talks are also said to be fruitful.
